Post by dablitz » Tue Jun 12, 2007 10:49 am

this is my dmesg after running throught lirc-0.8.0

lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
lirc_imon: no version for "lirc_unregister_plugin" found: kernel tainted.
/usr/local/src/lirc-0.8.2/drivers/lirc_imon/lirc_imon.c: Driver for Soundgraph iMON MultiMedian IR/VFD, v0.3
/usr/local/src/lirc-0.8.2/drivers/lirc_imon/lirc_imon.c: Venky Raju <dev@venky.ws>
/usr/local/src/lirc-0.8.2/drivers/lirc_imon/lirc_imon.c: imon_probe: found IMON device
lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0
/usr/local/src/lirc-0.8.2/drivers/lirc_imon/lirc_imon.c: imon_probe: Registered iMON plugin (minor:0)
/usr/local/src/lirc-0.8.2/drivers/lirc_imon/lirc_imon.c: imon_probe: iMON device on usb<3:2> initialized
usbcore: registered new interface driver lirc_imon

now the module loads in lsmod

Module Size Used by
lirc_imon 16008 0
lirc_dev 14964 1 lirc_imon
ipv6 241824 14
pcspkr 3968 0

is there any reason for a tainted kernel?

I am running debian 4.0 with vanilla kernel 2.6.20 on via EPIA-EN1500N
