Thanks to Scorpuk for his wiky, i've installed my imon on ubuntu.
Irw works, but i'don't know how to use lirc whith my prefer program like rhythmbox totem kaffeine and tvtime.

mattia@ubuntu:~$ irw
0000000028b595b7 00 1 lircd.conf
000000002bb195b7 00 2 lircd.conf
000000006902b9b7 00 CursorUp lircd.conf
000000002b8195b7 00 MenuBottom lircd.conf

it's ok?

To use your remote with other programs you will need to create a file called .lircrc (note the preiod at the start of the file). Place this file in your home directory: /home/user/

Then run the following program in a terminal window (and leave it running):

Code: Select all

irexec

Just make sure the button names match the names you have in lircd.conf and you should be ok.

In mine I have the following:
# lircrc for iMON
#
# To check button names on your remote, make sure lircd is running and run irw
# Pressing buttons will show the appropriate button name
#

# Non-program specific
#

# Command bindings

begin
button = MyDVD
prog = irexec
repeat = 0
config = kaffeine -f dvd://
end

begin
button = MyMusic
prog = irexec
repeat = 0
config = rhythmbox
end

# Program Specific
#

##############################################
### Rhythmbox juke box player
###############################################

begin rhythmbox
begin
prog = Rhythmbox
button = AppExit
config = quit
flags = mode
end

begin
prog = Rhythmbox
button = Play
config = play
end

begin
prog = Rhythmbox
button = Pause
config = pause
end

begin
prog = Rhythmbox
button = Stop
config = stop
end

begin
prog = Rhythmbox
button = Vol+
config = volume_up
repeat = 3
end

begin
prog = Rhythmbox
button = Vol-
config = volume_down
repeat = 3
end
begin
prog = Rhythmbox
button = Skip+
config = next
end

begin
prog = RhythmBox
button = Skip-
config = previous
end

begin
prog = RhythmBox
button = Mute
config = mute
end

begin
prog = RhythmBox
button = scan
config = shuffle
end

begin
prog = RhythmBox
button = FastForward
config = seek_forward
end

begin
prog = RhythmBox
button = Rewind
config = seek_backward
end
end rhythmbox

Hope this helps.

Not too sure about that as i haven't tried it myself, but there is a topic on this forum about that so maybe... :)

Little problem:
i've made this script and put in /etc/init.d

#!/bin/bash

chmod 666 /dev/lirc0 &
ln -s /dev/lirc0 /dev/lirc &
lircd -d /dev/lirc &

mode2 works but if i launch irexec:
mattia@ubuntu:~$ irexec
irexec: could not connect to socket
irexec: No such file or directory
